Many small New England towns don’t have a centralized place to bring mixed donations. Operating out of our home in southern Vermont, Thrifting New England works with individuals located within an hour’s travel (Windham County VT, Cheshire County NH, Franklin County MA) to collect used items. We clean, sort, and organize these items, hand-picking between 20-30% of them for resale at fair market prices. The remainder are redistributed locally to individuals and charities in need.

A huge advantage of starting your own company is not having anyone telling you what to do when. A huge danger is that without external accountability you’ll decide that there are days where junk food and Downton Abbey are more tempting than the work you know you need to get done.
